My preseason predictions in the nba western conference??

Pacific

1. Phoenix (class of division)

2. Golden State (how much will they miss J-Rich??)

3. LA Lakers (still, basically, a one man team)

4. Sacramento (bad team chemistry)

5. LA Clippers (Elton Brand will miss alot of the season)

Southwest

1. San Antonio (defending champs)

2. Dallas (pretty much the same team as last year)

3. Houston (will T-Mac and Yao ever win a playoff series??)

4. New Orleans (if they stay healthy, they could surprise)

5. Memphis (Poor Pau Gasol, he deserves better)

Northwest

1. Utah (well coached, with solid players at every position)

2. Denver (will the Nuggets EVER win a first round playoff series??)

3. Seattle (team will struggle, but Durant should win ROY)

4. Portland (losing Greg Oden for season really hurts)

5. Minnesota (this team will really struggle without KG)

Agree, disagree?? Comments??

My preseason predictions in the nba western conference??nba fantasy

Impressive, but the only changes I would make are:

Dallas and San Antonio

New Orleans and Memphis

Denver and Utah*

*If AK holds out, Utah will definitely miss his cutthroat Defense, whether or not he played a big role in the offense doesn't matter, his presence on the floor was definitely felt, as he was the only post defender on the team, as well as a great perimeter defender. Boozer can't defend, and Okur is very limited. This could be outdone by the improvement of Deron Williams however...if they play fast enough, they might have the quickness to double team and still get back to cover the open man.

My preseason predictions in the nba western conference??nba draft picks ,nba teams

I only disagree in he Pacific and Northwest divisions. I think Kobe can lead them to second in that division. I also think that depth in a fast-paced NBA matters. Thus, I think Minnesota will finish third and Seattle last.
Pretty much rite exept switch around LA and GS and Utah and Denver
I generally agree with your rankings. The only noteworthy difference is the Southwest with the Houston Rockets. Rockets has potential to be 2nd in Southwest (with 3rd or 4th seed in playoffs) or win the division outright. Rockets are improving, deep roster, tough, defense, scoring, speed. If Yao and T-Mac stay healthy, Rockets will win a lot more games than last year.
I actually think the Dallas Mavs will have more wins as usual and the Houston Rockets (if they stay healthy) will take the second spot for the season, but the Spurs win when it counts. Denver should win more games this year than Utah due to Kirilenko's possibility of leaving the team. Pretty much other then that I agree except for Seattle being 3rd, give Portland some props will ya? They have a good team anyways with Aldridge and Roy getting more time this year.
Lakers will do better than Warriors because they have derek fisher and warriors don't have Jason Richardson.
pretty good, but warriors are winning it all

go warriors!
pretty good rankings
All I have to say is that the Houston Rockets will be in the West Finals.

Who's better, Tayshaun Prince or Devin Harris?

Who's better, Tayshaun Prince or Devin Harris?basketball shoes

Tayshaun he is from Compton, that dude is pretty

cool, hangs with his boys from the hood, he was

on the And1 show just visiting with one of his old

friends that never made it to the league, cuz he

had problems with coaches.

I say he is the best player in close games, thats

why Detroit has won titles, kind of poor man's

verision of Dennis Rodman, bu plays better

offense.

Prince can one day be a KING...LOL

Who's better, Tayshaun Prince or Devin Harris?nba champions ,nba teams

They play different positions. But if I'd had to pick one or the other on my team right now, I'd go with Tayshaun Prince for his defense alone. Simply he's had more experience and more of a complete player.
Definitely Prince.
They play different positions, but I say Tayshaun is better. Harris is just starting to get good, Tayshaun has been good a couple of seasons. This is Devin's breakout season.
Tayshaun prince devin harris sux
yea I'm not even gonna break this one down..

tayshaun prince is a better player then devin harris hands down.. they play different positions anyway so theres no use in comparing there stats..
Tayshaun Prince is way better than Devin Harris no doubt.

When the NBA had 29 teams a few years ago when there was no Bobcats, how did they fit 82 games for e

a couple years ago when the charlotte bobcats wasnt a team yet, there were only 29 teams, and each team play 82 games a season. if there are an odd number of teams and they each play an even number of games, how do they make such a schedule? i mean how could it all fit perfectly on each teams' schedule?

When the NBA had 29 teams a few years ago when there was no Bobcats, how did they fit 82 games for each team?basketball jerseys

Well there were 15 east teams and 14 west, the west teams would play each other 4 times and play the east two times. (13x4 + 15x2= 82). The East would play each other 4 times and every West team except two of them twice.

When the NBA had 29 teams a few years ago when there was no Bobcats, how did they fit 82 games for each team?nba 08 ,nba teams

As I see it, some teams in the West do not come East and play a team twice. I have see that some West Coast teams have played the Celtics twice in a season but some only show up once

So I guess it was not really perfect.
This is just because for some reason, they liked the 82 number for games. They thought it would go perfectly.

LeBron's improvements next season?

I'm a fan and I was sad when Celtics knocked them out, but can I have some predictions on his improvements and what he should improve? I think he needs to improve shooting and his fadeaways are pathetic.... I seem him shoot at a range that is supposed to be easy for NBA players, but he misses.... They say that he improved his shooting greatly, but all I see was that he improved his scoring by holding the ball 80% of the time his team has the possesion. Do you think he will make 30/31 ppg average?

No hate, just discuss.

LeBron's improvements next season?nba

probably worse, since his supportting cast are getting worse by the year.

LeBron average: 28pts 5ast 8reb

LeBron's improvements next season?nhl ,nba teams

yeah he has to work on mid range shooting .he has to shoot alot cuz i wouldnt wont to pass to west for the game winner
He need to work on his post up game and his jumpers...
I have to learn how to shoot and pass.
He definitely needs to improve his shooting and his shot selection. I've seen him pull up for a three or just take a fadeaway jumper without any attempt to get to the basket. With his ability and his body he can get to the basket whenever he wants, but sometimes he just settles for a jumper. When he is attacking the basket their isnt anybody that can stop him. But we forget he is still a very young player. I think he will average about the same next year, especially if he has no help. Thats the reason he holds the ball so much because besize him there isnt really another guy on the team that can create their own shot. Maybe Wally Szcerbiak. I'm a big fan of Cleveland too, but Lebron cant do it all by himself.
He definately needs to work on his perimeter shooting. He seems to do fine during the regular season, however, in the playoffs when defenders overwhelm him he has trouble getting it off. Either Brown needs new strategies on offense to free him up or Lebron really needs to pick up opponent strategies and react to them by creating his own space. Something Michael Jordan could do with his bball IQ and athleticism. Kobe has that atm which is what makes him so dangerous on offense.
He is so great a beast. For all the LeBron haters that love Kobe more and say LeBron has no shot they are dead wrong cause he has a higher fg% than Kobe and LBJ23 does like 2 shoot from the outside. Anyway, he is a great all-around bball player and the only thing he has 2 work on is his unselfishness. Sometimes he just has 2 be selfish and take over games on a consistent basis look at game 7 he saw no one was hitting shots but in the end of the game he kept passing the ball 2 them and wally missed the potential game winning 3. I will give that 2 Kobe he senses when its time for him 2 act selfish and take over the game. Also LeBron needs a passer and a scorer 2 help him carry the load as well as an offensive presence cause ben is good but a offensive liability. Which is why they should pick up Emeka Okafor and Jason Williams from free agency and trade for Michael Redd an all-star shooter.
Free Throws

A little on the D side

Not been a ball hog

Shooting 2's and 3's

how to drive to the hoop cause he misses most of the layups
I agree with you. He really needs to improve on his all-around shooting. No matter how good he is in driving and getting through players on his way to the rim, some great defensive teams like San Antonio and the Boston Celtics could still find ways to limit what he can do offensively so he's gonna have to shoot better because he's gonna have to shoot when needed.

But I expect him to improve. He works very hard on his game on he always knows what he has to do to get better. There is always room for improvement for a guy like LeBron James. \

I also think he could average over 30 ppg next season and for more seasons. And he would be doing so while also grabbing maybe 7 or 8 rpg and 6 apg. He's in attack mode this season winning the scoring title and he will be again next season.

But it isn't just LeBron who needs to get better for the Cavs to improve as a team next season. LeBron seriously needs better teammates, he's been doing too much and he could really use a hand. Ilgauskas and Varejao needs to do more inside, Pavlovic's improvement is critical, Gibson has to continue to improve and Wally needs to shoot more consistently to be a threat. I personally don't like Ben Wallace as a PF in the Cavs so I think he should be traded for better inside presence.

As for LeBron, the sky is the limit for him.
If he is the "king" i think he doesnt need improvements ;)
he is gonna improve his jumpshot and free throws, he knows he needs to work on his jumper again, thanks to the celtics series and he already knows hes a terrible free throw shooter

Kelly Dwyer and her last unbelievably stupid article about who should be the MVP this season.?

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/nba_exp...

Well this is the article itself. I just want to know how many of you think that she (I suppose it is She assuming from the name) is just another Kobe hater and that she should be banned from publishing whatever related with basketball because she obviously possess as little knowledge as snail about this game. What I'm trying to say here is that I'm sick and tired of all these retarded people with mental problems that are desperate to catch some attention by posting total garbage on readers鈥?expenses. I just can't understand how this flat *** article is posted as head column in yahoo NBA sport page.

I just wanna know your opinion about this guys.

Kelly Dwyer and her last unbelievably stupid article about who should be the MVP this season.?nba.com

yea he/she just said that the "best scorer" is not actually the "best player" but later on in that same article he/she again said that LBJ surpass KOBE in scoring.

i think even he/she has an argument on him/her self. deep inside he/she knows KOBE is the best now.

Kelly Dwyer and her last unbelievably stupid article about who should be the MVP this season.?baseball ,nba teams

Dwyer is an idiot

He oviously is anti-Kobe

who cares, Kobe has more people that accept his greatness then hate it him for stupid reasons

Kobe is MVP 4 LIFE
dwyer may not be right, the opinion about who the best player is? the facts are there that support LBJ....your a Kobe lover thats all there is to it....kobe has a very good chance of winning MVP this year but never once has he been robbed of an award. If the lakers don't finish in the top 3 don't be mad when he doesn't win again
How dare someone question that Kobe should be MVP! Especially by suggesting that a player with superior statistics, that isn't a whiny crybaby, and actually led his team to the Finals deserves the award. What a travesty!!!
I red that article in yahoo sports..

SHE IS SHITTTTTT!!!!!!!

SHE IS OBVIOUSLY KOBE HATER....

I WANDER that LEBRON JAMES PAID HER...

NEVER MIND KOBE STILL THE BEST PLAYER!!!!!!!!

HE WILL WIN THE MVP THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!
kobe all the way! MVP 08!

'the best player on the planet"

fire kelly dwyer please.............

NBA MVP 2007: what do you think?

Who do you think should be the MVP this season and why? I think that Dirk should not win because he is just not the most valuable player in the league not even in his team.

NBA MVP 2007: what do you think?nba playoffs

Nash

/again!

NBA MVP 2007: what do you think?nba basketball ,nba teams

Mike Stimatze.

Best damn ball player in the game today.
Everyone on here can be so ignorant. Yes the mvp voting ended before the playoffs began duh its for the regular season that still doesnt mean crap. he crumbled during the last 1/4 of the season anyways. he blew it for himself. even if dirk won in votes b4 playoffs started doesnt mean hes going to get it. theyre not going to present him the trophy in germany okay fellas. thyings are very easily switched around. david stern is not going to be an idiot and present it to dirk. it would hurt the game of basketball. nash wins
Every ounce of me wants to say Dirk for MVP but after our little meltdown I would just as muck like Nash to take it again. He really glues the Suns together, you can tell when he's not playing.
You all are smoking crack.

Kobe is the best and most valuable.

RJ
I think that the Detroit Pistons will be the 2007 NBA Champions; and Chauncey Billups will be the MVP of the NBA Finals!!!!!!!!
I'd go with Nash!
Im all for Lebron James, but Nash has been doing his thing..
It'll probably be Dirk because voting was over by the time playoffs was over. But after seeing the playoffs, guess it should rightfully be Duncan or Nash
Irrespective of what has transpired in the playoffs, this award relates to the regular season only so playoff performances shouldn't be held up in favor or against anybody.

I think it still comes down to the Nash, Nowitski, Bryant debate. See my question I asked on this before the playoffs started. There is good discussion on this there. The answerer I picked as best persuaded me that it should be Nash.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
ABSOLUTELY NOT DIRK NOWITZKI.

What a pansy he is. And the other candidate - Steve Nash? Didn't he just bust his nose open, and try about 15 times to re-enter the game, but kept having to leave because the bleeding just would not stop?

Hmmmmm..... who sounds more like an MVP?
whom to your question about NBA and MVP

well i dont no because a lot of people talk bout and all i could say is that NBA is basketball and MVP is the best player or something like that

%26amp;hearts:%26amp;hearts:stacey%26amp;hearts:%26amp;hearts:
Nash.
kobe kobe kobe
Steve Nash should win the MVP,again :)

Dirk disappeared in the playoffs,I like the guy I picked them going to the finals again this year. But he shrank in the playoffs, gimme a break the Warriors.

Nash,hands down MVP
For the 5000th freakin time this question has been asked...MVP voting is based on regular season perfromance, so the abvious choice is Dirk.
kobe this year %26amp; last year. 50 plus points n 10 games. most feared player today, versatile, plays offense %26amp; defense. 81 points. do i need 2 go on. he just hav a sorry team around him but they still makes it 2 the playoffs. please don't giv it 2 Dirk. he's a one dimensional player. a 7 ft jump shooter. who makes European players their #1 option. Josh Howard is the best all around player on the Mavs. and not Nash again. he's good but not MVP good. they would make the playoffs with out him. the Mavs did it with out him. Nash just hav a lot of talent around him 2 make him look better than he actually is. I would put him n the same catorgory as Billups. and does anybody remember that game against the Nets last year when Kidd shut Nash down with 0 points. what player scores 0 points %26amp; still win the MVP award. give me a break.
MVP this season front-runners.

Steve Nash

Kobe Bryant

Tim Duncan

Dirk Nowinski

You're statement about Dirk with regards to the league could be argued, however you are clearly wrong with regards to his team. He is clearly the best player on the Mavericks team. You can't base your arguments on one round of the playoffs (7 games). In fact the MVP has nothing to do with the playoffs, it's the MVP of the regular season. And get this the Mavericks had the best record in the league, usually the top team or at least in the top echileon will have the MVP. (very few exceptions and one of the things stopping Kobe from getting it)
steve nash! no questions asked. he's a definite team player and puts up numbers. the boy can ball!
cant be Dirk. He played in the playoffs and his team did not win. How valuable is that? Would have to be STEVE NASH.
Steve Nash! (Canadian Eh!)
I think that Steve Nash deserves the award more then n e 1 in the nba, but the voters r retards and say nash got it the last 2 years and dirk had a bettr year, even though when dirk got hurt, his team stil won, when nash got hurt, the suns cant win, so the MVP award should go 2 nash cause he is the Most Valuable Player in the nba, no questions asked, not the most talented, but the Most Valuable Player.
well jean-mar! i agree with you! dirk could not even get his team to second round!! and he played poorly!! now steve nash is another story! steve nash gets third MVP!! HE DESERVES IT, PLAYER!
Steve Nash is and should be the MVP. Koby is without doubt the best 'player' in the league; but, if you switched the two the Suns are out in the first round (if they even made the playoffs. With Nash at the wheel for the Lakers, just imagine how good the other players around him would be. Odom, Walton, and Brown would have monster years. There is no question that he makes the people around him better. The Suns record without Nash vs with him? No question there. Dirk's Mavericks had a time trying to win without him, but they can win without him(look at the record with and without.) Plus Nash's averages are up from last year. How can someone have a better year than they had the previous MVP year, and NOT win the award. There is no doubt that Dirk had a great year also, so I can see how he might win it. (no argument. he deserved it too) But Steve Nash is a better all around player and more valuable to his team then anyone out there because of the fact that he makes them better than they are. (by the way. Who was Boris Diaw before he got to the Suns?)
I think Lebron James should win MVP for bringing his team to another level this year.
the candian white guy nash
I will go with Marion.
Lebron. He has led a team that, without him, would be medicore at best.
This is a no brainier, it Steve Nash. He can score any time he wants, pass any time he wants. He is a machine that nobody can match.
